Synopsis
“Chikubu-shima”
The Emperor’s subjects come to Lake Biwa to visit the shrine of Benzaiten in “Chikubu-shima”.
The vassal hops on a fishing boat run by an old fisherman and a young woman he meets on the lake, and goes to Chikubu-shima, a floating island in the lake.
While admiring the beautiful spring scenery, they arrived at “Chikubu-shima”, and the old man guided his retainers to the shrine.
The woman reveals that she is not human, she enters the shrine, the old man tells her that she is the lord of the lake, and she disappears into the waves.
As the ministers were spending time with the priest showing them their treasures, the palace rang and a shining Benzaiten appeared.
As Benzaiten played the night bugaku in the form of a magnificent celestial maiden, the moon soon began to shine brightly above the lake, and the dragon god appeared from within the lake.
The dragon god offers gold, silver, and beads to his subjects as a sign of blessing.
After making a vow to save sentient beings, saying, “One day I will become a celestial maiden and fulfill the wishes of sentient beings, and another time I will become a dragon god of the lower world and pacify the land,” the celestial maiden enters the shrine, and the dragon god turns to the lake. I kicked up the waves and jumped into the Ryugu.
